About.
Having something of a troubled relationship with unconciousness, writer/director Marc Blackie wrote the text that would become the foundation for Inevitable Silence during a dark and possibly stormy night. Dreamy oblivion proving once again elusive, a sleep hypnosis session was listened to for all of at least two minutes, before the asinine words of the piece drove the would-be somnambulist into an indignant rage. Words were hastily scratched onto paper, the words that would go on to form the bulk of the film and a series of small darkly erotic vinettes shot to compliment this indignant fury.
Marc Blackie is an award-winning English photographer and filmmaker, whose short films and images inhabit a world of sexually charged existentialism and have been described as “Jarringly combining eroticism with the uncomfortable and sinister” by the New York Magazine.
